A Litany of the Longing
When I want to remain in the fig leaves but also be seen … meet me here, Jesus.
In the fight to live an integrated life … meet me here, Jesus.
When I feel like a misfit on both sides of the parade … meet me here, Jesus.
In loving Your teachings but feeling their weight … meet me here, Jesus.
When their comments make me question my goodness … meet me here, Jesus.
In wondering if I can ever fully come out … meet me here, Jesus.
When celibacy doesn’t feel like the prize that it is … meet me here, Jesus.
In our secret place in the garden … meet me here, Jesus.
That recognizing her beauty can bring You praise … show me, Jesus.
To reverently sit with my desires … show me, Jesus.
That You delight in calling me Your beloved … show me, Jesus.
To be braver and holier in this experience… show me, Jesus.
That this cross is a gift … show me, Jesus.
To be joyful in this tension … show me, Jesus.
That Your Sacred Heart is inclusive of us all … show me, Jesus.
To invite others into this rebellious place of obedience … show me, Jesus.
